Take your time and try not to get frustrated when trying
to remove viruses & spyware.
I recommend using four programs to clean an infected
computer. These are not in any specific order. SpyBot
Search & Destroy, AdAware, Windows Defender
and HiJackThis. In my experience, I have found that
running all of these programs simultaneously will
remove most, if not all spyware/adware.
Overview: Trojan-Downloader.Zlob.Media-Codec
disguises as required upgrade software for
Windows Media Player to be able to view
adult videos online. It contains malicious
codes that downloads a variant of Trojan.Zlob
which is the culprit for Rogue Antispyware
Programs such as SpywareQuake, SpyFalcon
Winfixer and others.

Download SmitfraudFix
and save it to a desired location.
This will be in ZIP File.
Extract all the files to your
Desktop, it will create a folder
SmitfraudFix.
Note: When extracting or executing,
some files might be detected
as Potential Threat or Harmful
Script. Please disable AntiVirus
or Any Script Blocking Software
temporarily. It may harm or
make the Fix incomplete.
Temporarily disable System
Restore (WinME and Windows XP)

Browse the folder SmitfraudFix
on your Desktop and double-click
on smitfraudfix.cmd
“Enter your Choice: (1,2,3,4,L,Q):”
Press no. 2 to clean to the
infections.
Wait for the process to finish.
If prompted for: Registry
cleaning - Do you want to clean
the registry? Press Y, as Yes
It will check if your wininet.dll
file is damaged, if so it will
ask you to Replace Infected
File? Press Y as Yes and hit
Enter.
In order to make sure that
Adware (or ad ware) is completely
eliminated from your computer,
carry out a full scan of your
computer using AntiVirus and
Antispyware Software. Another
way to detect the virus using
various Scanner Program without
the need to install can be done
with
Online Virus Scanner.
Open Internet Explorer - clear your cookies
and cache.
To delete cookies in IE: Tools
>> Internet Options >> on the General
tab choose Delete Cookies. You
will be asked 'Delete all cookies in the
Temporary Internet Files folder? Click
OK.
To delete the cache in IE: Tools
>> Internet Options >> on the General
tab choose Delete Files. Be sure
to place a check in the box that says
'Delete all offline content'. Click OK
OPTIONAL: If you are using Windows ME or
Windows XP, disable System Restore.
Sometimes viruses can hide in System
Restore files in which case turning
off off system restore will delete
those files. (Warning: If you disable
System Restore you will remove all previous
restore points, which means that you will
no longer have the option of restoring
the computer to a date when the computer
was last functioning normally.)
Run a full system scan on the computer.
This might take some time depending on how
much data the anti-virus software needs to
sift through. Be patient, let the software
do it's job.
